Our Reserve

A Journey Through Life

It all began in the late 1960s. My parents, who were originally from Sardinia, chose Montalcino as a fresh start, buying a farm where nature still ruled the roost.

In this corner of Tuscany, we found not just a house, but a hidden gem.

The Wild Truffle Ground

Within our estate lies an unspoilt nature reserve, a rare ecosystem that we have preserved with the utmost dedication. For decades, this patch of land has remained a quiet refuge for wild animals and ancient trees, harbouring beneath the surface a natural truffle ground of prized white truffles, completely hidden from human sight. The oaks and poplars that dominate the landscape create the perfect microclimate for the growth of this precious fruit of the earth, which thrives here without any artificial intervention.

Today, I have chosen to honour my parents’ legacy and protect this little corner of paradise, opening the reserve’s doors to those who appreciate the beauty of the unexpected, making it accessible for the first time with the utmost care and a deep sense of responsibility towards nature.

Tradition and Environmental Stewardship

To honour this land, we have demarcated the reserve and undertaken a meticulous programme of clearing and tending the woodland, with the sole aim of preserving its delicate natural balance. Every action we take is guided by respect for the cycle of life: we do not force the process, nor do we alter the soil, but simply prepare the ideal environment so that the truffle may flourish as it has done for centuries. In our reserve, truffles are not ‘produced’ in the modern sense of the word; here, we wait patiently for the truffle, following the slow and solemn rhythms of the Tuscan countryside.

We firmly believe that the quality of the product is a direct result of the health of the forest, and that is why every step we take along the trails is designed to protect this unbreakable bond between people and the environment.
